Background of the Organisation
The NFPB empowered by the 1970 National Family Planning Act, is the Agency of Government responsible for preparing, carrying out and promoting sustainable family planning services in Jamaica. To support the achievement of Jamaica's National Population Policy fertility-related goals.
The mission statement of the NFPB is to enable individuals to achieve good reproductive health (family planning and reproductive health outcomes) through the provision of high quality, voluntary family planning and health and family life education services implemented efficiently and effectively.
The Family Planning Programme VISION for the 2011-2015 period is:
"An engaged and informed society with persons taking full responsibility for their Sexual Health, and a first class system of health services that facilitates
their Reproductive Health intentions."
The Family Planning Programme MISSION for the 2011-2015 period is:
"To enable individuals to realise their Reproductive Health intentions through an integrated system of healthcare, that provides high quality Family Planning services and information on a range of contraceptive methods, to the exclusion of no person regardless of his or her socio-economic background."
